Brooklyn Chronister – “Talk of the Tailgate” presented by Taco Bueno

From rivalry games under the Friday night lights, to enjoying a big win on the field with her parents, Coweta junior Brooklyn Chronister brings the energy to every game for the Tigers.

“Friday nights for me are special because I love the atmosphere that Coweta’s student section and fans have during the games, and because I get to cheer next to my dad, Scott Chronister, who is the assistant head football coach and my mom, Jodi Chronister, who is my assistant head cheer coach,” Brooklyn said.

Brooklyn has cheered since the first grade, and she is proud to be part of the larger Tiger family. She loves her team, teammates, and classmates at Coweta High School.

“One thing I love most about my team is the family and friendship we have built on and off the field. One thing I love about my teammates is how we always push each other to do our best at practice, on the field, and at the competitions,” Brooklyn said. “It’s a great place to go to school because it has a family feel and no matter where you are you always have a teacher or friend to help you out.”

Brooklyn recalled her favorite moment came against their biggest rival.

“My favorite moment at a game this year was when we played Wagoner, who is our rival, and we were down by one point with three minutes left in the game and our entire crowd got quite for our punter to kick a 38-yard field goal which led us to a 9-7 win and the Coweta fans went crazy,” Brooklyn said.

After every game you can usually find Brooklyn and her teammates out eating with the football players and other students. You might catch them at Taco Bueno where Brooklyn loves to order Beef Roll Ups and large Chips and Queso.

Once she is done with high school, Brooklyn admits she will miss the crowds at the football games.

“After I graduate, I plan on going to Oklahoma State University and being a part of their cheer program where I will also pursue a medical degree or a sports media degree,” Brooklyn said. “I will miss the loud crowds cheering with us, the memories on the sideline, the exciting win of a game, and giving my dad and mom a hug after a big win.”
