VYPE: What are your goals for this season?

Camryn: My goals for this season are to go undefeated in district and make it to the championship game. We have a great team and I believe this is our year!

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

Camryn: I have played soccer for 13 years and it has taught me patience, sportsmanship and teamwork. It also gives you a group of girls that becomes family.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?

Camryn: My favorite teacher is my Anatomy teacher, Ms.Dupree, or Coach JD. She is a very welcoming and loving teacher but also isn’t afraid to help you get ready for college.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

Camryn: I have a lot of people that inspire me, including my grandparents, sister, coaches, teachers and parents, but I would say my twin brother inspires me the most. He had a senior season ending injury recently during football season and he never gave up no matter what. He watched the sport he loves everyday and was there for his teammates knowing he wasn’t able to play. He recently committed to play college football and it shows that anything is possible as long as you don’t give up and work extra hard for what you want.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Camryn: This person wasn’t necessarily a teammate but she has left the biggest impression on me. Callie Rucker was a player for Northeastern State that had torn both of her ACL’s. When I tore my ACL, both my meniscus and strained my MCL the summer going into my freshman year of high school, she was the one who helped me every step of the way no matter what. She took her time out of her day no matter how busy she was to make sure I was mentally okay. I am so thankful for her and all her help.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?

Camryn: I would say my favorite part about being on the team is the friendships you make throughout the season. I make so many memories each year that I will never forget. Your teammates make the long and tiring practices more fun.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?

Camryn: If I were to pick anywhere to go this summer I would pick Mexico and I would take my family with me.

VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?

Camryn: I am so passionate about this sport because I believe soccer defines me as a person. I wake up everyday excited to go to practice and to be with my teammates. It’s my happy place and somewhere I can go everyday and know I will have a good time even if I’m having a bad day.

VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.

Camryn: I want to say goodbye to high school soccer and club soccer as well. Every coach I’ve had within high school and club soccer has helped me grow as a person and a player. I want to thank every coach and teammate I have ever played with that has helped me to play soccer at the next level. I want to thank my family and grandparents for allowing me to play the sport I love. I want to say hello to Coach Chase Wooten and to Northeastern State University women’s soccer. I am extremely excited and blessed to have the opportunity to play soccer for four more years. Go RiverHawks!
