Coweta’s Ellie Foster – Volleyball Spotlight – Presented by Redbud Physical Therapy Coweta

Ellie Foster

Coweta High School

Playing volleyball for the Coweta Lady Tigers is about representing all of Coweta. Ellie Foster may only be a sophomore but when she steps onto the court it is about more than herself or her team. Ellie plays for her whole community.

“Playing volleyball has impacted the way I work with others around me. Being on a team is like being part of a family. My favorite part is being surrounded by people who motivate and push me to be the best version of myself. A team encourages and looks out for one another.

Playing on a team with girls I love is one of my greatest motivations to keep growing in this sport,” Ellie said. “I feel so much joy when I am playing volleyball. God gave me a passion for this sport for a reason. He put me where he did so I can make an impact and be impacted by others through this sport. I almost always come off the court with a smile no matter what happened.”

Her favorite memory is earning the nickname ‘The Closer’ in her first rec volleyball tournament. “I was somehow given the chance to serve out almost every single set that day. Serving is still one of my favorite parts of the game,” she said.

The best advice Ellie says came from coach Patrick. “You are not perfect and never will be. The only perfect person who walked this earth was Jesus. Don’t let the fear of failing hold you back from playing your best,” he told her.

Friends and teammates Avri Mackey and Jewel Lenard both taught Ellie the importance of shaking off mistakes. “They have also shown me the impact a person can make when they have a servant’s heart,” Ellie said. “My parents and grandparents have all been huge inspirations in my life. They are some of the hardest working people I know, and some of the kindest people in my world. They have helped shape who I am and who I want to be in the future. I love laughing and spending time with my family.”
