Coweta Boys Basketball Preview – Presented by BancFirst Coweta

Coach: Brandon Maddux
20-21 Record: 14-7

Having a good basketball team in Coweta has become the expectation and head coach Brandon Maddux believes he has a team that compete and make a run that could result in something special. “Expectations are high in Coweta this year after a run to the state tournament a season ago,” said coach Maddux. “The Tigers return a wealth of experience, as well as some talented players ready to step in and make an immediate impact.” Trey Bartholomew (6-7, Sr.) is the first name that comes to mind when talking about the Tigers. At 6-foot-7, Bartholomew is a big man at forward and has waited his turned to show what he is capable of doing. Tye Lair (6-0, Sr.) was the sixth man a year ago. He is a sniper shooter and is called “The Pistol” for a reason. Tyland Holdman (6-1, Jr.) was a reserve player a year ago, but is now ready to contribute in a big way. Hard work in the offseason has the coaching staff taking notice. Na’Kylan Starks (5-10, Jr.) is the floor General for the Tigers. He has all of the tools you want in a guard. Mason Ford (5-10, Jr.) was the Metro Lakes Defensive Player of Year last season. This year he is ready to show what he can do offensively while still being that defensive stalwart. Trevor Freeman (6-2, Sr.) and Jaron Meadows (6-4, Sr.) are the type of guys every program needs. Freeman is the glue while Meadows is a versatile defender with a three-point stroke. Aaren Hall (6-4, Jr.) is looking to take a huge step and continue to push for playing time. Transfer rules kept him on the sideline last year. Also look for Noah Worden who can score at all three levels. Every team needs an unselfish team player like Malachi Miller who sacrificed his time to help the team in every single game. His work ethic is unmatched, and the roots of the team’s success can be traced back to Miller.
