Starting forward for the Coweta Tigers, Colin Graham, has spent the last seven years honing his craft on the court. As a member of the varsity basketball team, Graham said the encouragement and support he and his teammates provide one another is what he loves about being a Tiger.
“The thing I love most about my team is that we always encourage each other no matter what adversity we face,” said Graham.
Playing basketball for Coweta has been a great experience over the years. Several memories stand out, but nothing is better than having fans in the stands.
“My favorite memory as a Coweta basketball player is the Friday night home games that we wait on each week. As we have more fans and energy, we are all pumped and ready to play. Really though, I just love getting to be around the game every day from practicing to playing in games,” said Graham.
Away from basketball, Graham is involved in many activities including serving as class President.
“I participate in Coweta High School’s Leadership Program, where I serve as Class President. I am a member of National Honor Society. Also, I have played basketball with Ball4Life (AAU team) for the past three years. As a Junior I had the opportunity to be a part of Youth Leadership Wagoner County. In 2020 I became an Oklahoma Youth Tour Award Recipient,” said Graham.
His academics are always at the forefront of his responsibilities as a student-athlete. Graham said maintaining a high GPA is very important to him.
“Academics are very important to me as I work hard to maintain a GPA of 4.25 and continue to be a part of the top two percent of my class,” said Graham. “After I graduate, I plan to major in pre-pharmacy with a minor in business or accounting, and later attend Pharmacy School.”
Graham points to his faith as a reason for his success.
“Number one of course is God. Other than Him I can always count on my parents to support and help me in all my life endeavors. I will always be thankful for them and strive to become as good of a person as they are. As they have always told me to make good choices, stay humble, and work hard,” said Graham.
In his free time you can find Graham hanging out with friends and family, playing basketball, eating Chick-fil-A and shopping for sneakers.
