Defense
The Tigers base their defense on a 4-3 formation but can play in a three, four, or five man front. The defense returns seven starters, including linebacker Michael Fletcher (5-11, 195, Sr.). Fletcher had 76 tackles during his junior year, but people can expect that number to increase going into his senior season. At the defensive back position, Cadence Denton (6-0, 170, Sr.) uses his natural athleticism to succeed. Recording 56 tackles and three interceptions as a junior, coach Harper has no doubt that number will go up in the upcoming season. On the line, Caleb Phillips (5-10, 275, Sr.), Wyatt Holmes (6-3, 265, Jr.), and Carson Flanary (6-2, 215, Jr.) all bring experience to the Tiger defense. Phillips recorded 30 tackles in 2020 and uses his strength and quickness to his advantage. Holmes is coming into his junior year after starting as a sophomore and looks to add to his success in 2021. Playing defensive end, Flanary had 54 tackles in 2020, and coach Harper expects big things out of him in the upcoming season. Nathan Maledon (6-1, 185, Jr.) will line up at the safety position, looking to add to his 67 tackles from a year ago.
