Role models are an important part of everyone’s life. They serve as someone to look up to and mold ourselves after. Jaron Meadows says that he has been blessed with a lot of great influences in his life.
“My biggest influences are Russell Westbrook and Cristiano Ronaldo,” he said. “They both have high energy and work hard at their game. Russell Westbrook inspires me because no matter what he does or where he is at in life he is going 100%. Also, my basketball coach, coach Maddux, is an important person in my life. He is always there to push me to be my best and has also been there to support me through some hard times in my life. He is not just a coach or teacher, but he is a mentor and a friend.”
Meadows is a senior at Coweta High School, where he is a member of the cross country, basketball, soccer, and track teams. He has played basketball and soccer for a majority of his life, but he decided to get into running when he was in junior high.
Though he has spent a lot of years playing sports, Jaron does not have one specific moment of his career that he would call his favorite. But he says that he is looking forward to making many this year.
“I do not have a highlight to my career that I can think of,” he said. “Instead I am planning on this season highlighting my whole career as an athlete.”
While he has put a lot of work in to get to where he is as an athlete and as a person, Meadows says that he has had a lot of help along the way.
“I can definitely say that my coach and teammates have pushed me to be my best,” he said. “And that has always helped me, but also my self-motivation and drive has gotten me to where I am. I am also thankful for my family, friends, and church family at Coweta Assembly of God for helping me become the person I am today.”
