Head Coach: Brandon Maddux
19-20 Record: 14-12
Offensively the Tigers want to play fast, free and have fun, while on the defensive end head coach Brandon Maddux is looking for a team that can dictate the pace, play disciplined and dominate. “Expectations will be high in Coweta this season with a nice mixture of ripened upperclassmen and talented youth,” said Maddux. “Look for the Tigers to build on last season’s success and push for the Metro Lakes Conference title and a state tournament berth.” Leading the way is Jacob Mills (6-6, Sr.) at forward. Mills is athletic and energetic. Last season he averaged 12 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. Tryston Doherty (6-3, Sr.) will play wing where his slashing ability and transition game is highlighted. Doherty averaged 8.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. Tye Lair (6-1, Jr.) brings a high basketball IQ who can get things going by hitting three-point shots. Another scorer to watch is Na’Kylan Starks (5-9, So.). Starks is very competitive and skilled with the ball. He averaged 10 points a game with 5.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds. Also look for Mason Ford (5-9, So.) another talented sophomore and defensive stalwart. Something to Watch – Mills is a three-year letterman and two-year starter. He is poised to be the go-to guy for Coweta. Starks is one of the most talented players in the 2023 class.
