Coweta High School volleyball player Hannah Foster has grown into a versatile presence for the Lady Tigers, embracing the challenges that come with playing multiple roles on the court. “I am a setter/right side and occasionally an outside. I love getting to face the challenges of both back row and front row.” That willingness to do whatever the team needs has helped Foster become a dependable piece of Coweta’s varsity lineup.
Her game is built on court awareness and a competitive drive to keep every rally alive. “The strength of my game is being able to attack open spots on the court and finding a way to hit the ball no matter where it is set.” That attacking mindset pairs with a steady approach when momentum swings, something she credits to lessons learned last year. “Last season taught me to be patient and understanding even when things are rough.”
Foster values the culture within the Lady Tigers program and the way the team responds together when adversity hits. “I love how much we support each other and when something goes wrong, we move on as a team.” That sense of unity is reinforced by the relationships she has built with teammates, including those she looks to for examples of leadership and character. “Abby Akehurst is my current teammate, and she has shown me how to be gracious and caring even when we are at a low.”
Family also plays a central role in Foster’s motivation. “My grandparents really inspire me with how hard they work and how generous they are to everyone around them.” She also draws inspiration from her sister, a fellow varsity player. “I admire her leadership and her determination because she is very dedicated to her position as a setter and captain. One of my biggest motivations over the last year was the chance to play with my sister on varsity. She is my best friend, and I am so excited for this season!”
As she looks ahead, Foster is keeping an open mind about life after high school while staying focused on making the most of each opportunity. “I am unsure of what I want to do in the future, but I do know it will be exciting.”
